About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to manage and oversee project planning, scheduling, and progress control across construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring that project timelines are effectively developed, monitored, and achieved in alignment with contractual requirements and organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in coordinating with project teams, analyzing progress performance, identifying delays, and implementing recovery plans to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project).
  • Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules on a regular basis.
  • Analyze delays, identify critical paths, and recommend mitigation or recovery plans.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to collect progress data and ensure alignment with schedules.
  • Evaluate contractor schedules and ensure compliance with project milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct risk analysis and propose corrective actions to minimize schedule impacts.
  • Review and validate extension of time (EOT) claims and variation impacts on project timelines.
  • Track project performance using key metrics such as SPI (Schedule Performance Index) and CPI (Cost Performance Index).
  • Assist in forecasting project completion dates and resource requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of planning records and reports.
  • Support tendering teams by preparing preliminary schedules and manpower histograms.
  • Coordinate with cost control teams for integrated planning and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10 to 12 years of professional experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
  • Strong expertise in planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Experience in large-scale construction projects (e.g., healthcare, commercial, infrastructure).
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and delay analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project reporting tools, including S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing contractor programs and progress reports.
  • Knowledge of contract conditions, particularly FIDIC, and their impact on planning and claims.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
