Job Summary
The Senior Supply Chain Specialist – Gulf is responsible for executing and coordinating end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations across Gulf markets for an assigned product portfolio (e.g., Consumer Health or Specialty).
The role ensures effective planning, execution, and optimization of supply chain activities, including demand planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, and order fulfillment. Operating within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, the position plays a key role in supporting business continuity, commercial objectives, and operational excellence, while ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulatory requirements across all Gulf markets.
Area of Responsibility
Gulf+ Supply Chain Leadership & Strategy
- Execute and coordinate end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations across Gulf markets for the assigned product portfolio.
- Ensure alignment between regional supply chain priorities and country-level execution.
- Support the implementation of Gulf supply chain strategy in line with business objectives and regional requirements.
Demand Planning, Inventory & Order Management
- Manage demand forecasting inputs, inventory planning, and order management to ensure optimal product availability.
- Balance service levels, inventory targets, and expiry risk across assigned portfolio and markets.
- Drive accountability for demand planning accuracy and inventory performance in coordination with stakeholders.
Logistics, Distribution & Execution
- Oversee and coordinate logistics activities, including shipment planning, tracking, and delivery execution, in collaboration with the Logistics Specialist.
- Ensure alignment and effective execution of logistics operations across Gulf markets.
- Monitor distribution performance and escalate risks to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery.
Supply Chain Performance & Cost Optimization
- Monitor supply chain KPIs, service levels, and cost performance for assigned portfolio.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cost optimization while maintaining compliance and service quality.
Compliance, Governance & SOP Adherence
- Ensure adherence to distribution contracts, SOPs, and internal supply chain policies.
- Ensure compliance with GDP, GMP (where applicable), and local regulatory requirements across Gulf markets.
- Support internal and external audits related to supply chain and logistics activities.
Inventory Risk, Data & Master Governance
- Manage inventory to minimize stock-outs, expiries, write-offs, and obsolescence.
- Ensure accuracy and governance of item master data and SKU information.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of sales and purchase orders and reporting to Head Office.
Launch Readiness & Regulatory Coordination
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs on new product launches, variations, and supply readiness.
- Ensure supply chain readiness for launches in line with regulatory approvals and timelines.
- Support preparation of annual To-Market Sales (TMS) budgets and periodic updates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Risk Management
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, and Quality teams to support business objectives.
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation and business continuity plans.
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure smooth execution across markets.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to analyze supply chain data, forecasts, and performance metrics to support decision-making.
