Job Purpose:
As a senior member of the Financial Markets (FM) Solutions team, the incumbent will be a strong team player with the ability to deliver agreed revenue targets across all Financial Markets products and asset classes (with the skill to lead teams and deliver team objectives). He/she will be expected to cultivate strong relationships with the clients, to understand their requirements and provide high quality service to them while managing internal relationships with an equal amount of care and responsibility. In addition, he/she will work closely with the Business heads, to provide a strategic direction to the FM Solution's business with respect to individual portfolios and segments, identifying long term opportunities, leading to product enhancements and client penetration.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage more strategic and complex transactions predominantly with key and broader relationships of EDB
- Advance the growth of the Financial Markets Solutions business, originating and structuring transactions with existing as well as new clients, enhancing product penetration, while maximizing absolute as well as relative returns, without compromising on risk or compliance
- Increasingly grow the quality as well as the quantity of client deposits via diversification from strategic accounts, extending the average maturity of the profile while achieving the revenue target, and assisting the Bank in maintaining a lower Cost of Funds (CoF)
- Ensure all revenue and volume targets are delivered under the stipulated guidelines
- Be the key driver in delivering a larger share of the P&L responsibility for FM Solutions
- Have the faculty to conduct constructive and meaningful discussions with client's senior management, using market knowledge and business expertise to build trust and affinity, leading to better deal economics, and eventually closures
- Develop and maintain a significant presence with the Business teams, to identify and capitalize on new leads as well as help expand existing client relationships
- Assist in developing and implementing the Financial Markets Solutions practices across all activities/operations to promote efficiencies in work processes, resultantly increasing customer satisfaction
- Maintain a trusted partner status with Front Office, Middle Office, and Operations with respect to product control
- Provide training internally to staff within FM Solutions, while also conducting product sessions for the relevant staff in the bank
Operational Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with teams in Large Corporates as well as mSME Banking, to grow the client franchise business by understanding their requirements, and help the Financial Markets Solutions team deliver most viable as well as compliant solutions
- Engage clients directly to discuss hedging strategies, and provide appropriate suggestions, based on their unique business needs and exposures
- Structure and price all FM related products within multiple asset classes with the tools provided
- Maintain a robust pipeline of deals, increasing conversion rates progressively
- Prepare marketing material to be used either for internal or external consumption about FM Solutions, global markets outlooks, pricing trends, etc. in an easily understood professional format
- Execute FM trades with clients as well as back-to-back deals with banks simultaneously to carry zero trading risk on EDB's books
- Comply 100% with all Legal, Risk and Operational requirements as well as ensure there are no breaches
- Coordinate the onboarding process for FM transactions with partners in Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations
- Respond to all FM related client queries in a timely fashion to enhance client satisfaction
- Maintain adherence to Financial Markets policies, procedures, and processes, that comply with the leading practices, laws, and regulations
- Function within the framework and boundaries of EDB's policies as well as overall organizational and governance frameworks
- Take decisions as per the approved authorization matrix.
- Maintain a transaction level MIS for clients with help from Finance, and analyze reports to manage and grow client activity (where possible)
- Coordinate with EVP – FM and Chief of T&I for related issues that may jeopardize the achievement of FM's goals to ensure there is alignment with the overall FM strategy
- Always maintain the highest standards of work ethics, making sure that one operates under a professional environment, there are zero compromises on compliance or principles, any breaches of limits, etc. are immediately escalated, and all activities are performed under the approved audit framework.
