Role Description
The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and support corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals. This role involves analyzing environmental data, improving resource efficiency, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into business operations and drive long-term environmental and social impact. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability, analytical, and knowledgeable about environmental practices and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies and programs
- Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics (e.g., carbon footprint, energy usage, waste reduction)
- Conduct sustainability assessments and audits
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations
- Support ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting and initiatives
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource optimization
- Engage stakeholders and promote sustainability awareness within the organization
- Stay updated on sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field
- 25 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or ESG roles
- Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, ESG, ISO 14001)
- Analytical skills with experience in data collection and reporting
- Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities
- Passion for environmental and social impact initiatives
- Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO, Sustainability certifications) are a plus
