The Technical Manager is responsible for transforming approved design concepts into fully buildable, compliant, and coordinated construction documentation. The role ensures that every design created by EVA Interiors design team is accurately detailed, technically feasible, and flawlessly executed on-site.
This position bridges the creative design department and the project execution teams guaranteeing that luxury design intent is maintained without compromising technical precision or compliance.
Expected Outcomes:
- 100 % of issued drawings are accurate, coordinated, and compliant.
- All IFC packages are released on time with minimal rework.
- Seamless coordination between design, planning, procurement, and site teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Drawings & Documentation
- Lead the preparation, review, and approval of Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
- Manage and supervise the technical team (draftsmen, detailers, coordinators).
- Review and finalize joinery, MEP coordination, RCP, and section details.
- Maintain technical documentation standards, file naming conventions, and revision logs.
- Coordinate with authorities (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, Trakhees, etc.) for code compliance.
B. Coordination & Integration
- Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure buildability of design concepts.
- Resolve technical clashes between design, structural, and MEP layouts.
- Work closely with Procurement, Planning, and Project/Site teams to synchronize deliverables.
- Review shop drawings and subcontractor submissions for accuracy and compliance.
- Lead technical meetings and provide design clarifications (RFIs) to site teams.
C. Quality & Process Management
- Implement and monitor EVA's technical drawing standards and QA/QC processes.
- Verify that site execution aligns precisely with IFC drawings and design intent.
- Lead periodic site inspections with the Project Manager and Head of Design.
- Support value engineering efforts by identifying cost-effective technical solutions.
- Maintain a clear Design Change Log for all modifications.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
- 7-10 years experience in luxury residential or high-end fit-out projects.
- Strong technical and detailing expertise particularly in joinery and millwork.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office (Revit preferred).
- Excellent understanding of MEP coordination and site construction processes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of UAE construction authority standards and approval processes.
