UCC Holding Egypt is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead and manage technical and BIM activities from its Cairo Office, supporting major construction projects across the GCC.
The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing technical delivery, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM implementation, technical resources, quality control, and timely production of project deliverables. The role will work closely with project management, design, construction, procurement, commercial, and BIM teams to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements, and project programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Technical and BIM team based in the Cairo Office.
- Support and coordinate technical activities across multiple UCC Holding projects in the GCC.
- Oversee architectural, structural, civil, MEP, façade, fit-out, and BIM coordination activities.
- Plan and allocate technical resources in line with project requirements, priorities, and programmes.
- Manage the timely preparation and review of BIM models, shop drawings, coordination drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, value engineering proposals, as-built drawings, and closeout documentation.
- Establish and implement technical procedures, standards, templates, workflows, and quality-control processes.
- Oversee BIM Execution Plans (BEP), MIDPs, TIDPs, model federation, clash detection, model audits, and coordination closure.
- Ensure technical deliverables comply with client requirements, project specifications, contractual obligations, and applicable standards, including ISO 19650 principles where required.
- Coordinate closely with Project Directors, Design Managers, Consultants, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, QA/QC, and Construction teams.
- Monitor technical progress, approvals, resource utilization, rework, technical risks, and team performance.
- Review technical issues and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to develop timely and practical solutions.
- Support constructability reviews, technical procurement, value engineering, design optimization, and alternative proposals.
- Monitor design changes, technical variations, and their potential impact on cost, programme, and construction.
- Prepare technical reports, dashboards, progress updates, risk registers, and recovery plans for management.
- Lead technical meetings and ensure effective follow-up and closure of outstanding actions.
- Develop, mentor, and manage technical and BIM team members to maintain a high-performing team.
- Support project handover, commissioning, as-built documentation, and technical closeout activities.
- Maintain strong coordination with GCC-based project teams and travel to project locations when required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Architectural, Civil.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant construction, design, engineering, or technical management experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Technical Management, Design Management, Engineering Management, or BIM Management roles.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technical and BIM teams.
- Strong contractor-side experience on major hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, transportation, fit-out, or complex building projects.
- Proven experience working with a Tier-1 main contractor on large-scale or mega construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant GCC project experience.
- Strong knowledge of design coordination, shop drawings, material submittals, constructability, technical procurement, and project closeout.
- Strong BIM management experience, including BEP, MIDP, TIDP, LOD, clash detection, model federation, and CDE workflows.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, AutoCAD, and Power BI.
- Good knowledge of ISO 19650 and digital information management.
- Good understanding of commercial and contractual matters, including design responsibilities, variations, and technical claims support.
- Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional engineering or architectural registration.
- PMP certification.
- BIM or ISO 19650 certification.
- Master's degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Aconex, SAP, Oracle, and 4D/5D BIM workflows.
- Experience working on major GCC hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, or mega construction projects.
