Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Temporary Works Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to be responsible for the safety, design, and management of short-term structures used during building projects.
What You Will Be Doing
- Create and maintain Temporary Works Register, a master list tracking every temporary item from its initial design to its final removal.
- Develop accurate Design Briefs and ensuring all designs are checked according to the risk category of the work.
- Manage the critical hold point process by issuing Permits to Load (giving the green light to use a structure) and Permits to Unload/Strike (authorizing its safe removal).
- Verify that the teams installing the works are skilled and following the approved drawings exactly.
- Appoint and brief Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS) to oversee day-to-day site activities and inspections.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience),
- 10+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Deep technical understanding of structural loads and construction processes.
- The authority to stop work if a structure is deemed unsafe, even if it impacts the project timeline.
- Meticulous record-keeping of drawings, risk assessments, and inspection logs for legal traceability.
