The Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing all design-related aspects of fit-out and joinery
projects, from concept development to project completion. Must work closely with architects, engineers, and
other stakeholders to deliver high-quality designs that meet client requirements and industry standards
within the respected timeline of the project. The Design Manager will also manage a team of designers and
collaborate with all the team-members to ensure seamless project execution.
Areas of responsibility
Project Planning and Concept Development:
Collaborate with architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and
constraints.
Develop design concepts, space plans, and mood boards that align with client expectations and project
goals.
Conduct site visits and surveys to gather necessary information for the design process & site execution.
Create detailed design briefs, including specifications, materials, finishes, and timelines.
Design Management:
Lead a team of designers, providing full guidance, feedback, and support throughout the design process.
Review and evaluate design proposals, ensuring compliance with design intent, quality standards, and
industry regulations.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and resolve design-
related issues.
Conduct regular design reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Upon the approval of the design, the department head has to official share the approval along with the
signed draft.
Technical Expertise and Documentation:
Apply technical knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes, materials, and construction techniques to
develop accurate and feasible designs.
Ensure full process with the technical team is done smooth, to make sure the site execution is done as
per the final design and detailed drawings.
Ensure to verify and share the final design along with the signature to the technical team to create detailed
technical drawings.
Prepare comprehensive documentation, including bill of quantities, schedules, and specifications for
procurement and production purposes.
Collaborate with the procurement team to source and select appropriate materials, finishes, and
suppliers.
Project Coordination and Communication:
Must collaboration and actively coordinate with all our team-members and different function to ensure
the actual and proper project delivery.
Share with the team the project lead time in term of design and the expected future step. Ensure full
coordination for any design changes.
Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless
project execution and timely completion.
Facilitate effective communication between design teams, production teams, and other stakeholders to
address design-related issues and ensure project milestones are met.
Attend project meetings, provide design updates, and offer solutions to overcome challenges.
Regularly report on project progress, budgets, and resource allocation to senior management.
