Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a DevOps Engineer based in 6th of October, Egypt. Some flexibility for remote work is provided. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the following direction:
- Build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
- Run and scale containerized environments (Docker Swarm).
- Keep production stable with high availability, monitoring, and fast incident troubleshooting on Linux.
- Own zero-downtime releases, migrations, and upgrades.
- Set up centralized logging & observability (ELK) and improve alerts + visibility.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, and Infra to improve delivery speed and system quality.
- Drive DevSecOps practices: WAF/Firewall/SIEM integrations, vulnerability controls, and secure-by-default pipelines.
- Maintain clear documentation (runbooks, diagrams, SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and relevant regulations.
- Deployments are repeatable, automated, and safe (minimal manual steps).
- Releases and upgrades happen with near-zero downtime and clear rollback plans.
- Monitoring/logging enables fast detection + root cause analysis.
- Infrastructure and pipelines follow security and compliance requirements (PCI-DSS).
- Strong ownership mindset: you prevent issues, not just react to them.
- Clear communication and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications
- 6-9 years in DevOps / DevSecOps (strong production exposure is a must)
- Strong experience with Docker and Docker Swarm
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (or similar tools)
- Strong Linux production administration and incident troubleshooting
- Experience with centralized logging/monitoring using Elastic Stack (ELK)
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and modern deployment strategies
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, proxy servers, load balancing, routing)
- Experience with Jira & Bitbucket in day-to-day engineering workflows
- Automation/scripting experience with Node.js / JavaScript (or equivalent)
- Strong DevSecOps mindset (security-by-default, least privilege, audits, automation)
- Experience with F5 WAF, FortiGate Firewall, and/or SIEM integrations is a plus.
- Experience with SonarQube and CI quality gates is a plus.
- Experience with zero-downtime deployment approaches (blue/green, canary, rolling) + rollback planning is a plus.
- Exposure to PCI-DSS or regulated environments and their operational controls is a plus
