Finance Manager Building Materials

Location Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Reports ToGeneral Manager / Finance Director

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will oversee all financial activities of the building materials business, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, cash flow management, and compliance with Saudi regulations. The role supports management with reliable financial insights to drive profitability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely closing of accounts and accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor profitability by product line, project, and customer.
  • Analyze variances between budget and actual performance and report findings.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Support sales and operations teams with financial planning.
  • Track cost controls related to procurement, logistics, and inventory.

Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking facilities.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with banks on credit limits, guarantees, and financing arrangements.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Oversee inventory valuation, slow-moving stock, and write-offs.
  • Ensure accurate costing of building materials, including imports, freight, and customs costs.
  • Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams to improve stock turnover.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with Saudi tax laws, including ZATCA requirements (VAT, withholding tax).
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and develop the finance and accounts team.
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and process discipline.
  • Improve finance systems, reporting tools, and workflows.

Key Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.

Experience

  • 610 years of finance experience, preferably in building materials, construction, trading, or manufacturing.
  • Strong exposure to inventory-heavy businesses.
  • Experience working in Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and cost accounting.
  • Good knowledge of Saudi VAT and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
