JOB OVERVIEW
The Junior Risk Analyst will support the Risk function in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on financial and operational risks. The role focuses on assisting with data analysis, reporting, and coordination activities, while developing a foundational understanding of risk management practices within Asset and Wealth Management.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing client financial information and supporting documentation
- Support the preparation of basic risk reports, dashboards, and summaries
- Collect, organise, and analyse financial and market data under supervision
- Assist in identifying and escalating potential risk issues to the team
- Support discussions and coordination with portfolio management and internal teams
- Help monitor fund performance and risk indicators
- Assist in preparing market updates and internal reports
- Support the implementation of risk policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to risk assessments
- Assist with regulatory and internal reporting requirements
- Participate in ongoing risk reviews and internal projects
- Perform administrative and coordination tasks as required by the Risk team
Position Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
Technical Competencies
- Strong numeric skills
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Superb investment analysis software user
- Proficiency in excel and excellent presentation skills
- Familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
- Solid understanding of financial set-up, procedures, statistics, and economics
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Basic understanding of financial concepts and markets
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills in English and Arabic
- Willingness to learn and develop in risk management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Work Experience
- 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
- Internship experience in finance, risk, or banking is an advantage
