JOB OVERVIEW
The Junior Trader will support the brokerage trading desk in executing client orders, monitoring transactions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on trade execution support, client coordination, and operational accuracy, while developing a foundational understanding of equity markets and trading platforms.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving and processing client orders through approved communication channels
- Support execution of trades under supervision via authorised trading systems
- Accurately input and maintain trade orders in the system
- Verify client identity and ensure proper documentation before trade execution
- Check availability of client funds and highlight discrepancies to the Manager
- Support in confirming executed trades with clients within required timelines
- Maintain proper records and filing of trade-related documentation
- Assist in preparing daily trade summaries and reports for internal teams
- Monitor transactions for accuracy and escalate any discrepancies or errors
- Support in handling client queries and basic service requests in line with company standards
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance guidelines
- Coordinate with back-office, operations, and compliance teams for smooth processing
- Stay updated on basic market movements and trading practices
- Perform administrative and coordination tasks as required by the Trading Manager
Position Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Technical Competencies
- Basic familiarity with trading platforms and order management systems
- Understanding of market terminology and order types
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Basic understanding of financial markets and equity trading concepts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- High level of integrity and responsibility when handling client transactions
- Willingness to learn and develop within the trading function
Work Experience
- 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
- Internship experience in brokerage, banking, or financial markets is an advantage
