The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks completion.
Responsibilities
- Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, set timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are met.
- Site Management: Oversee construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Resource Management: Manage project budgets, procure necessary materials, and coordinate team efforts to optimize productivity.
- Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, consultants, and engineers to ensure effective communication and timely issue resolution.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, cost estimates, and status updates.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
- Problem Solving: Address technical challenges promptly and implement effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all project activities adhere to relevant safety codes, industry regulations, and company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of project management experience, ideally within a consultancy firm or PMO environment.
- Previous experience in hospitality projects is a strong advantage.
- PMP and PRMG certifications are considered assets.
- Solid understanding of engineering systems and project lifecycle management.
- Proven experience in project engineering and project management roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Experience in developing and managing project schedules using MS Project.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
