Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
2. General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Monitor and report on budget variances.
- Provide financial forecasting.
4. Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, financial regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
5. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee the processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage accounts receivable and collections.
- Prepare and analyze Receivables aging reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
6. Taxation:
- Prepare and file VAT returns.
- Prepare and file ZAKAT returns.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with tax planning and strategy.
7. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
- Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
