Job purpose :
Assist in projects study to reach preliminary cost elements and construct the required calculation sheet to complete the required project cost study to be able to submit the tenders on time.To review draft tender documents and to prepare commercial & technical bid proposal documentation to ensure all systems and components of the tender are included.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities :
1.Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
2.Prepare cost breakdown for items in Tender B.O.Q.
3.Easily move to jobsites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other factors.
4.Read all Tender documents in order to prepare estimates.
5.Recommend ways to reduceproject cost if applicable taking into consideration the quality
6.Prepare Subcontractor set drawing, B.O.Q, spec & follow-up &Compare their quotations.
7.Determinate the indirect cost & overhead of the tender project.
Job RequirementsEducation:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil / Arch )
Experience:
- Minimum 35 years of experience in Cost Estimation, Tendering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Proven experience in preparing tender cost studies, BOQs, and bid submissions.
- Previous experience with contracting or consulting companies is preferred.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong ability to review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Solid experience in:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and cost breakdown structures.
- Pricing tender BOQs accurately.
- Identifying direct, indirect costs, overheads, and profit margins.
- Experience in preparing subcontractor inquiry packages (drawings, BOQs, specifications), following up, and conducting technical & commercial comparison.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and market rates.
- Ability to propose cost optimization and value engineering solutions while maintaining required quality standards.
Software & Tools:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for cost calculations and estimation sheets.
- Good command of MS Word and PowerPoint for preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with planning and estimation software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar) is an advantage.
